The Shock Physics & Chemistry Research Group is a part of the State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology (SKLEST), Beijing Institute of Technology. SKLEST is the one and only national laboratory of China in the field of explosion and shock wave research. State-of-the-art experimental and computational facilities are available at SKLEST for studying explosives, explosion and dynamic loading.
SPC Group conducts interdisciplinary research spanning the fields of solid mechanics, materials science, physics and chemistry. The research activities of SPC Group focus on physical and chemical responses under dynamic loading (shock wave or shockless compression), including shock induced modification, synthesis and processing of materials; deformation, fracture and failure of materials under dynamic loading; mechanical behavior, damage and safety of energetic materials; numerical simulation of explosion and shock waves. The researches of SPC Group have been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program) and National High Technology Research and Development Program (863 Program).
