1. How to open the campus internet account and a BIT email account?
The campus network is registered with real names, one account per person. The BIT online account and email account for undergraduates of grade 2019 are set up by BIT in a unified manner. An online account number and an e-mail account will be generated by BIT based on each student ID (10 digits, you can see your student ID after logging in to the system). The online account for grade 2019 students is the student ID, and the email account is: student ID @bit.edu.cn.

For example, for a student with a student ID of 1234567890, the his/her BIT online account is: 1234567890; and his/her BIT email address is: 1234567890@bit.eu.cn. The login password is set for both the online account and the email (the passwords of the two are separate). The initial online account and the password of the email are the same and are automatically generated by the system (notified in the pre-admittance of the system). Please change your email password when you use your email for the first time; change your online account password when you use the campus Internet for the first time after arriving at the school.

2. How to use the campus network?

Each bed in the dormitory of grade 2019 students is equipped with an internet port (it is required to prepare the network cable connection port to the computer), and wireless network (network name : BIT-Web and BIT-Mobile) is now accessible at science teaching building, comprehensive teaching building, administrative building of Liangxiang campus.

3.How much does campus network charge?
According to the provisions of the “Administrative Measures for the Cost Sharing of the Campus Network of the Beijing Institute of Technology” on July 2, 2013, the basic fee for full-time students in BIT is 10 yuan/month (including 10GB of traffic), and the rate for excess of the network traffic is 0.01 yuan /10MB. The network traffic is valid for the current month, and unused traffic will not be counted for the next month.

The campus network billing takes the natural month as the settlement cycle, and the account amount is not settled in a real time manner. It applies the method of withholding in the current month and starting centralized settlement in the early morning of next month. At the beginning of each month, you must ensure that the balance in the online account is not less than 10 yuan to use it normally. The specific usage can be checked on "Consumed Amount" and "Residual Amount" in the user's self-service system.

You can use the campus card with your own photo to pay the network fee on the self-service machine when you recharge the campus network account. You can only recharge your account with your own personal card. Students of Liangxiang campus can only pay the network fee on the self-service machine through the campus card.

Location of self-service machine at Liangxiang campus: entrance of card service center on the first floor of student service center, first floor of administrative building, first floor of north canteen, first floor of south canteen, first floor of library, first floor of science teaching building and some dormitory buildings, etc.

Students at the Zhongguancun campus can use self-service machines or cash to pay the network fee; if the students need to pay the network fee in cash, please go to Room 312 of the Network Service Center.

Special reminder: Do not buy any Internet card or online recharge card recommended by any salesman, these cards cannot be used in BIT. Every year, students are tricked by buying various internet cards from salesmen.

4. How to use a computer to log in to the campus network?
When using a computer to log in to the campus network for the first time, first make sure that the network cable is connected. In the computer, enter "Network Connection"-"Local Area Connection"-"Properties"-"Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPV4)", select "Automatically obtain IP address, automatically obtain DNS address". After obtaining the correct IP address, you can log in to the campus network.

After accessing the campus network, if you need to access resources outside the campus network, you can open the browser and enter 10.0.0.55 in the address bar to enter the web page login page, or enter the user name and password as required in the pop-up page to log in and access off-campus resources.

5. How to use wireless network?
The science teaching building, comprehensive teaching building, and administrative building at Liangxiang Campus have opened the campus wireless network (network name: BIT-Web and BIT-Mobile), and Xu Teli Library has opened the wireless network (network name: BeijingLG), for all the above networks, it is required to use the BIT’s online account to log in.

Wireless users can choose to connect to "BIT" or "BIT-Mobile", enter the online account and password to log in according to the prompt information, and connect to the campus network. Among them, "BIT" is suitable for computer use, and "BIT-Mobile" is suitable for mobile phones or other handheld devices.

6. How to use campus network client and self-service?

The website 10.0.0.55 provides a client to be downloaded for campus network login: click the client downloading to download the mobile computer client separately, which is convenient for login. Depending on the mobile phone and computer you use, there are many different versions of the client.

The website 10.0.0.55 provides the self-service function of the network account: you can modify the login password and credit limit, the number of connections and query network traffic usage. The initial credit limit is 0, indicating that online consumption is not limited. If you need to limit consumption, you can set a specific amount upwards, within the range of greater than the basic fee and less than or equal to the account amount, for example: the credit limit is set to 10, then the monthly available network traffic is 10G, and the monthly deduction is 10 yuan; you can change the credit limit from 10 to 11, the monthly available data is 11G, the fee is 11 yuan, and so on. The maximum number of login connections is initially 1, which can be set to 2 at most, for two Internet devices to use a campus network account at the same time.

7. What card will freshmen receive?

Each freshman will get the following card: campus card. The card is issued when new students register at BIT. It is printed with the college, class, student number, and the student’s photo provided in the pre-registration system. The campus card has the function of storing value and is the main means of payment and "identity card" for various consumptions in BIT. Canteen meals, supermarket shopping, bathing, Internet account recharge, dormitory entrance, library entrance, etc. are all required to use the campus card. The campus card has an independent consumption limit and consumption password, which can be modified through the self-service machines on campus.

8. How to recharge the campus card?
There are three ways to recharge campus cards:

(1) Recharge by cash: go to the card service center on the first floor of the student service center to recharge with cash.
(2) Self-service deposit: Use the China Merchants Bank self-service deposit machine located on campus (restaurant, dormitory, etc.) to recharge. In this way, you must first bind your campus card with the China Merchants Bank Card that BIT sent to you on the self-service machine.
