News Agency of BIT is a non-profitable student organization. It is supervised by instructors assigned from News Center of BIT. The main purpose of News Agency is to serve the official English Website of BIT.

News Agency of BIT supports: the official English website’s operation and maintenance. We provide news, information, translation of text material, photography, image processing, dubbing and video processing services for the official English website of BIT and related international divisions.

News Agency of BIT consists of three sections including: Translation Section, Journalists Section, Management and Communication Section.

Aims of News Agency of BIT:

Unity——To build a harmonious organization and to work together in unity.

Learning——To build an academic spirit and progress through practices during the process of foreign language learning.

Keenness & Wisdom——To be keen on different perspectives of news and to be wise in formulating thoughts.

Responsibility——To insist on accuracy in translation, to pursue objectiveness in news and to strive for being an international vanguard of BIT.

In order to strengthen the international publicity work and promote the construction of internationalization, we are now recruiting foreign students to join the News Agency of BIT and assist the Office of News Center with the administrative work.

Sections

1. Journalists Section

Job Contents:
①To make the in-depth coverage of news, activities and research of foreign students
②To dub for the column of BIT Videos
③To take photos for the column of News & Events and BIT Stories for the homepage

2. Translation Section

Job Contents:
①To translate the news from Chinese website of BIT
②To improve and rectify the English translation

3. Management and Communication Section

Job Contents:
①To purchase office supplies and make budgets
②To seek sponsorship for activities of the News Agency
③To communicate with other student groups and/or administrative offices in BIT

Requirements

1. International students of BIT
2. Good oral and/or written English
3. Sensitivity of news, and/or high enthusiasm of working
4. Native language not limited to English
