Beijing Institute of Technology, Jan 20th, 2021:Recently, the School of Management and Economics of BIT(Beijing Institute of Technology), received the official notification of AMBA (Association of MBAs, British Master of Business Administration Association). After the review panel’s discussion of AMBA,MBA/EMBA program of BIT passed the AMBA re-accreditation and received the AMBA 5-Year re-accreditation certificate. This is the third time that we have achieved the AMBA accreditation certificate since 2011.

AMBA accreditation is an international certification system for the MBA/EMBA of business schools, which focuses on the development of business education and management practices. Together with AACSB (Association to advance collegiate schools of business) and EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), AMBA certification is known as the three authoritative international certification systems for the business and management education in the world.

On October 16, 2020, the panel was chaired by Prof. Gunther Friedl, the dean of Technical University of Munich management school, composed of Prof. Paolo Taticchi, the deputy director of the MBA and international project of University of London management school, Wang Zhongming, the professor of Zhejiang University, AMBA Chinese consultant and president of the International silk Road Entrepreneurship and Education Association, Mr. George lliev, the director of AMBA Strategic Projects, Innovation and Certification in China. It evaluates the School of Management and Economics for re-accreditation. Due to the global Covid-19 outbreak, the evaluation was conducted online.

During the online evaluation, the panel reviewed the online databases and reports provided by the School of Management and Economics and had symposiums with the BIT leaders and functional departments, school team members, MBA/EMBA directors and related teachers, so it can have an in-depth investigation into the school's development strategy and mission, finance, faculty, scientific research, MBA/EMBA program setting, student training, alumni contact, epidemic response and so on. The accreditation panel highly appraised the development of MBA/EMBA program in recent five years. Yang Zhihong, the Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of BIT, and relevant leaders of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department and Planning and Finance Department attended the symposiums.

In recent years, under the leadership of the University Party Committee, under the support of the International Office, the Department of Planning and Finance, the Graduate School, the Department of Undergraduate Academic Affairs, the Office of International Students, the Department of Human Resources and other functional departments, the School of Management and Economics has made progress in discipline development, specialty construction, personnel training, faculty construction, scientific research and enterprise cooperation, passed three international certifications: AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB, become one of the management schools among the top 1% with three major international accreditations.
