the 58th BIT Sports Meeting & 2021 Sports Culture Festival officially begins

in the solemn national anthem

At 8:30 am on May 15, 2021, the opening ceremony of the 58th BIT Sports Meeting & 2021 Sports Culture Festival was held at the Liangxiang Campus Stadium. Party Secretary Zhao Changlu, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Xiang Changle, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Bao Liying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee Qin Zhihui, Vice Principals Wei Yiming and Wang Bo, Assistant Principals Wang Bencong and Li Zhenjian attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was hosted by Wang Bencong.

Zhao Changlu emphasized that sports play an irreplaceable role in improving people's physical fitness and health, and promoting people's all-round development. Beijing Institute of Technology has a good sports tradition, especially in recent years, sports undertakings have flourished. Based on industry and discipline advantages, the school uses science and technology to assist sports, actively explores the road of "combination of sports and education", and has sent more than 100 high-level athletes to many national teams. At BIT, sports have truly become "hot", " dazzling" and "high-end". Zhao Changlu raised three hopes for teachers and students. One is to learn an exercise, the other is to master an exercise method, and the third is to develop healthy exercise habits. BIT will further promote the reform of physical education, continue to strengthen the construction of physical education teachers, continue to strengthen the management of sports clubs and activities, continue to improve the environment of sports facilities, and provide strong guarantees for teachers and students to participate in physical exercises, and use sports to empower moral education, intellectual education, and aesthetic education, labor education, explore and consolidate the effectiveness of physical education.
