I’m in the “Big Jump”

I am the “little housekeeper” of the media house

Let’s see what Tao Tian did this day!

Hello everyone! I am Tao Tian, a senior international student majoring in computer science at Lingwen College of BIT. In this Winter Olympic Games, I have undertaken the task of a technical volunteer in the media center at Shougang Ski Jump. My position is the reward volunteer assistant.

As a closed-loop Olympic volunteer, our media center accommodates in the "Olympic apartment" specially arranged for us by the school. Every day at 7:40, my partners and I leave from the school and return to the site at 6:00 pm after a day's work. I was also the captain of the resident shuttle bus to make sure every volunteer got back and forth safely.

The place where I worked at the "Big Jump" was called the VMC (Media Center). The Media Center is where the registered media reporters will be working to cover the events on site. After the opening of the Winter Olympics, journalists from all over the world will come here to finish their work, and it is also known as the "Media House".

In the Media House, we have wireless PADs and Wi-Fi, which can be loaned to journalists free of charge so that they can watch the event live and get information about the game anytime and anywhere. My job is to manage these products and be a good "little housekeeper". Whenever there is a problem with a product, I am responsible for organizing efforts to fix it as soon as possible to ensure that journalists can see every game smoothly.

At the same time, I am also a "little translator", I can help journalists from different countries in 7 languages: Bengali, English, Korean, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic and German.

As an international student from Bangladesh, I can come to China and study at BIT, and I have the honor to participate in the Beijing Winter Olympic Games as a student of BIT and do volunteer work. I must show the spirit of BIT students with my excellent performance!
