On December 28, 2021, Beijing time, 2021 ASEAN-China network for Cooperation and Exchanges among Engineering and Technology Universities (ACENT-EngTech) Working Meeting was successfully held online. More than 40 representatives from the ASEAN-China Center and over 20 network colleges and universities in six countries attended the meeting.

Wang Bo, the vice president of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), gave a video speech for the working meeting. He said that the ACENT-EngTech is an important platform for cooperation between China Chinese and ASEAN engineering colleges. The network colleges and universities have carried out extensive cooperatedion in the fields of talent cultivation, scientific research, social services, and cultural humanities exchanges. In 2021, as the rotating chairman of the network, BIT has organized a series of promotion forums and design competitions to promote the co-construction and sharing of scientific, educational and academic resources, enhanced teacher-student communication, and actively promoted exchanges and cooperation between the network's universities. He expressed gratitude to the network colleges and universities for their support for BIT, and expected the network to play a greater role in the future development of ACENT-EngTech engineering higher education, and wished the meeting a complete success.

In the subsequent speech session, representatives of the 16 network colleges and universities reported and exchanged communicated on about theirthe network's work in 2021 and the work plan for 2022. In the past year, the network colleges and universities have worked hard to overcome the impact of the epidemic, leverage their own discipline advantages, share experience and resources, to promote multi-level, multi-field, and multi-form educational exchanges and cooperation within the network, and to realize continuous education exchanges and cooperation. They said that inthat, in the future, the network work will continue to broaden cooperation paths, enrich the forms of cooperation, and carry out diverse cooperation in the fields of talent cultivation, scientific research, resource sharing, and teacher-student exchange, so as to achieve complementary advantages and win-win cooperation.

The working meeting also passed the decision that Mahidol University in Thailand serves as the rotating chairman of the network in 2022.

Background: In September 2014, led by Tianjin University, Excellence 9 signed the "Joint Statement on Building the " ASEAN-China network for Cooperation and Exchanges among Engineering and Technology Universities " with 8 universities in 4 ASEAN countries. The ASEAN-China network for Cooperation and Exchanges among Engineering and Technology Universities (ACNET-EngTech) was established. The network now has 24 college in 7 countries and is committed to establishing an international exchange and cooperation mechanism of ASEAN-China engineering higher education international exchange and cooperation mechanism, building a platform for engineering education information sharing and international academic exchange, and realizing the ideas integration, experience exchange, information services and achievement sharing.
