I'm on the "Big Air Shougang"

I am the "little housekeeper" of the media center

Hello everyone! I am Tao Tian, a senior international student majoring in computer science at Lingwen College of Beijing Institute of Technology. In this Winter Olympics, I took on the role of a technical volunteer in the media center on the Big Air Shougang. My position is Assistant Rewards Volunteer.

As an Olympic volunteer outside the closed loop, we, media personnel live in the "Olympic Apartments" specially arranged for us by BIT. At 7:40 a.m. every day, my friends and I start from campus. We can finish the day's work and return to the station after 6 p.m. I am also the captain of the resident shuttle bus, and I want to ensure that every volunteer travels back and forth safely.

On the "Big Air Shougang" where I work is called VMC (Venue Media Center). The VMC is the working place for registered journalists to report on live events. After the opening of the Winter Olympics, journalists from all over the world will come here to complete their interviews and reports. It is also known as the "Media Home".

In the "Media House", we have prepared wireless PADs and portable Wi-Fi, which can be borrowed free of charge for journalists, so that they can watch live games and get game information anytime, anywhere. My job is to manage these products and be a "little housekeeper". Every product has a problem, I will be responsible for organizing the force to repair it as soon as possible to ensure that the reporters can watch every game smoothly.

At the same time, I am also a "little translator", and I can help reporters from all over the worldin seven languages: Bengali, English, Korean, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, and German.

As an international student from Bangladesh, it’s fantastic to study in China, study at BIT, and catch up with a grand event such as the Beijing Winter Olympics. I have the honor to participate as a student of BIT and carry out voluntary service. I think this period of youth has left me the best memory and will be unforgettable forever! I must use my excellent performance to show the spirit of BIT students!

Before the opening of the Winter Olympics,

Tao Tian also participated in the "Cloud" Choir of Studying in China,

and sang the theme song "When the ice is shining"

in both Chinese and English with 100 international students,

conveying the best wishes of international students in China

for the Beijing Winter Olympics
