“Achievements are reached by hard work rather than recreation. My requirement for myself is to become an expert who is proficient in policies, familiar with business, and solid in style.” Whether in the former Personnel Office, the School of Management and Economics, or as the party branch secretary of the retired faculty and staff of the School of Management and Economics after retirement, Ji Xinhua, the representative of the 15th Party Congress of BIT, always puts into work with a spirit of diligence and dedication, takes every job seriously.

In 1985, Ji Xinhua came to work in the Personnel Department of Beijing Institute of Technology. This job lasted 14 years. At the end of the 1980s, computers were not yet used in the school's administrative work. Ji Xinhua, who was in charge of the salary management of the faculty and staff of BIT, had to manually calculate the salary of all teachers every time there is any adjustment. In order to ensure the accuracy of the data and ensure that there are no delays and zero mistakes in labor and salary, Ji Xinhua often works overtime, even late at night. Ji Xinhua insists on "convincing people with reason and emotions". Regarding all kinds of problems raised by faculty and staff, no matter how big or small the matter is, he will carefully view the documents and give solutions or explanations as soon as possible.

In early 2000, Ji Xinhua was transferred to the School of Management and Economics. "In 2007, the School of Management and Economics intended to apply for the' Beijing Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center' in accordance with the BIT’s requirements. The evaluation requirements were high and the time for preparation was short. Every leader and teacher of the school was racing against time." During that period, Ji Xinhua arrived at the office at 7 o'clock in the morning every day, and did not leave until early in the morning. In less than 40 days, he took the lead in organizing the preparation of various materials such as the main report, videos, exhibition boards, and the upgrading of environmental equipment. "At that time, our hardware facilities were not good. We can finally pass the review with high scores just with the spirit of ' call to come, come to fight, fight to win."

"After retiring in 2013, I started to work as an instructor for the construction of academic style in the School of Software. In the second half of 2018, I was hired as a party building organizer by the School of Management and Economics." After retiring, Ji Xinhua took up a new position. "The university period is an important stage of life development, and it is also a critical period for the formation of world outlook, outlook on life, and values. I often encourage my students to earnestly study party knowledge, scientific and cultural knowledge, understand the development direction of the frontier field of their major, continuously improve professional capabilities, and make contributions to national construction and social development in the future. " Ji Xinhua pays attention to the growth and success of students like his own children.

"Everyone elected me as the party branch secretary because of their trust in me. I will definitely live up to the expectations of the retired faculty and staff party committee and retired veteran comrades. " This is the promise made by Ji Xinhua when he was elected as the party branch secretary of the retired faculty and staff of the School of Management and Economics (hereinafter referred to as the 20th Party Branch) in January 2016. In the past five years, he has never forgotten his promise. Whenever the party committee of the retired faculty assigns work, he will convene a party branch committee meeting in time to study how to implement it together. He not only cares for and loves old party members, but also gives full play to the old party members’ advantages of strong political responsibility and serious work. Whenever a party branch is held, he will invite several old party members with long party age and high level to give key speeches to the younger ones to set example.

In July 2020, the 20th Party Branch were awarded the "Advanced Collective of Retired Cadres" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This is the only party branch that won the honor among the more than 60 retired party branches in BIT. Since joining the party in 1978, Ji Xinhua has been in the party for more than 40 years, and he has served as party branch secretary in different departments for nearly 20 years. He always said, "In the face of difficulties, party members and cadres must take the lead, and in front of honor and interests, party members and cadres must stand behind."

Carrying out well the work of the party branch, caring about the growth of the next generation, and providing advice and suggestions for the development of BIT, though Ji Xinhua retired, he always practiced the original aspiration and mission of a party member with practical actions.
