In December 3, 2021, the China-Laos railway was opened and operated on the occasion of the 60th anniversary establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Laos. The total length of the railway is more than 1000 kilometers. The whole line adopts Chinese technical standards and Chinese equipment. After opening to traffic, the travel time from Kunming, China to Vientiane, Laos will be greatly reduced, and you can arrive on the same day. Its completion and opening to traffic not only poured the hard work of more than 20000 builders day and night, but also provided an excellent stage for Lao students who had studied in China.

"Hello, everyone! I am Li Wansong, and I’m from Luang Prabang in Laos. I am 23 years old. From this year, I will work in China Railway, and my job is a mechanic. I like football and music."

The Laos young man who speaks fluent Chinese is an international student majoring in International Economy and Trade at Beijing Institute of Technology. Soon after entering the University, he got the HSK Chinese level five certificate. In January 2021, Li Wansong participated in the interview with China-Laos Railway, and the interviewers were Chinese engineers. Because of his good foundation in Chinese, he was soon admitted and began an 8-month internship at the track laying site of China Railway Erju in Laos. His post is safety management. During his internship, Li Wansong learned the theoretical knowledge and work essentials of motor vehicles. Thanks to the foundation of Chinese, the trainers praised him for his fast speed in learning and understanding skills.

Subsequently, Li Wansong formally embarked on the position of the China-Laos railway mechanic, the content of which is to make passengers arrive safely and safely. For him, this job is not only an honor, but also a heavy responsibility. Before each train departure, he shall check the appearance of the motor car and the equipment under the car. During operation on the way, ensure that the temperature in the vehicle is just right, and prepare to deal with some possible situations with the vehicle. After the train arrives at the station, it shall be ensured that the inspection of each carriage is completed. Each attendance is generally eight to ten hours, mostly from Vientiane, Luang Prabang, Modin, Wanrong and other cities.
