"Taking students to participate in high-level international moot court competitions, allowing them to compete with outstanding students from universities around the world, can not only improve the academic ability of students, but also fully demonstrate the strength of BIT's talent training." In the golden autumn of October, the school’s 15th party congress representative and teacher of School of Law, Li Hua led the student team to prepare for various competitions, such as the 18th CIETAC Cup and the 25th Stetson’s International Environmental Moot Court Competition. Over the years, Li Hua has devoted herself to the front line of education and teaching, with innovation competition as a starting point to continuously improve students' academic innovation ability.

"The moot court competition will give the contestants a clear case, requiring the contestants to analyze the pros and cons of a given case, and put forward their own propositions based on legal knowledge." Since instructing students to participate in moot court competitions in 2018, Li Hua has always emphasized that students should integrate theory with practice, apply what they have learned, and unite knowledge and action. "A case is a collection of many facts. How to find the key points in the complicated facts and analyze and solve the problems from a legal perspective is the key to preparing for the competition." In order to help the students quickly find the key points of the facts, from how to look up the literature to how to combine the case analysis, Li Hua "hand-in-hand" instructed students to prepare before the competition.

In the international moot court competition, document writing and oral arguments are the core content of the competition investigation. Li Hua can't remember how many times she had led the students to revise and proofread a document from the initial preparation to the final draft. "Only by working hard can we produce high-quality goods." Li Hua treats every aspect of the competition with excellence. "When students go to court, they represent the country. Debating on behalf of the country must be justified and logical." In order for the students to have the best performance on the field, Li Hua corrected the students' English pronunciation.

Only with combination of leniency and strictness can students grow quickly. "At critical moments and critical issues, I have strict requirements for students. Only with high standards and strict requirements can students grow and gain something." Li Hua has a unique way to guide students. Facing the academic problems of the competition, she is very strict, even a little harsh. Before each competition, Li Hua will lead the students to prepare about three months in advance. During the prevention and control of the Covid-2019, she still promised to have more than one hour for online discussions with students every three days. As the competition approached, she worked overtime and staying up late became the norm. It is precisely under the influence of Li Hua that striving for perfection and overcoming difficulties has become the preparation culture of students. In addition to strict requirements and dealing with students' daily life, she is also a warm sister, caring about the growth and development of every student. "During the days I spent together, I taught them how to play hand in hand, and I was sincerely gratified to see them growing rapidly. The sense of responsibility and pride of being a teacher grew spontaneously."

Gold Medal and third prize for best debater, and best debater in the finals at 2018 Stetson’s International Environmental Law Moot Court Competition East Asia Division; Spiritual Civilization Award at 2019 Stetson’s International Environmental Law Moot Court Competition East Asia Division; Best Petition Award at 2020 Stetson’s International Environmental Law Moot Court Competition…A string of shining achievements is the best explanation for Li Hua's devotion to educating people.

In the process of guiding graduate students, she always emphasized that students should continuously expand their international perspectives; when teaching courses in English in international economic law, special topics in international economic law, international trade and dispute studies, etc., she will continue to strengthen students’ knowledge and understanding of international relations through the ideological and political courses, and enhance students’ road confidence, theoretical confidence, system confidence, cultural confidence.

In addition to doing a good job in teaching and scientific research, Li Hua also served as the party branch secretary of the International Law Institute of the School of Law. Whether it is the theoretical study or practical activities of the party branch, Li Hua is dedicated, rigorous and meticulous, and has done a solid job. The branch was approved by BIT to build as a model party branch.

"I like being with students very much, and being with students, I feel very happy." After graduating from Seoul University in South Korea in 2009, Li Hua entered the school and has been working for ten years. "Whenever I think of the little things I spend with students day and night, a warm current will flow into my heart. Facing the future, Li Hua has a warm heart and is full of expectations.
