  The Key Laboratory of Complex System Intelligent Control and Decision (Beijing Institute of Technology), Ministry of Education, was approved and established in 2005.

  This Laboratory is built on the basis of the first-level discipline of Control Science and Engineering, and its main research directions are: theory of complex system, methodology and architecture; multi-index optimization and multi-objective decision making of complex system; comprehensive intelligent control of complex system; intelligent human-computer interaction and modeling simulation technology for complex system; and automatic detection and positioning navigation technology of moving body parameters in strong confrontation environment.

  The positioning of the Laboratory: conducting researches and solving the problems of theory, method, technology and application of analysis, modeling, control, decision-making and simulation of various complex systems related to national economic construction and national defense modernization construction, the Laboratory aims to build a comprehensive high-level research and innovation platform of “Complex System Intelligent Control and Decision”, which is open to the whole nation and has become an important base of knowledge innovation research in this field for serving the construction of national economy and the modernization of national defense.

  The construction objectives of the Laboratory: closely following the international and domestic frontier trends in this field, and building a high-level innovation platform according to the open, international and innovative development ideas to meet the needs of the main battlefield of national economic construction and national defense modernization construction, the Laboratory aims to create a high-level faculty team, make high-level academic achievements, and cultivate high-level innovative talents so as to solve the major scientific problems in this field, and become the first-class and internationally renowned “Key Laboratory of Complex System Intelligent Control and Decision” in China.

  The characteristics and advantages of the Laboratory: after years of construction and development by relying on the first-level discipline of Control Science and Engineering, the Laboratory has achieved a large number of high-level academic achievements based on its good foundation and conditions, and has formed the obvious characteristics and advantages of paying equal attention to basic research and applied research, guiding practice with theory and enriching theory with practice, and paying equal attention to military research and civil research with mutual penetration, mutual promotion and common improvement. Moreover, it has already developed technological advantages and characteristics in new basic theory and methods for dynamic programming of complex systems and their applications; the theory and method of robust stability, robust performance analysis, nonlinear control of constrained system and chaos control; multi-index optimization and multi-objective decision-making of complex weapon systems; aiming, stabilization, tracking control and integrated simulation of moving objects in complex environment; classification, fusion and recognition of information patterns under complex background; automatic detection and control of attitude, position, direction and other parameters of moving objects in harsh environment; and comprehensive control and optimization of typical industrial processes like hot rolling process and biochemical process.
