Article 1According to the “Regulations on the Administration of Students in Regular Colleges and Universities” (Order No. 41 of the Ministry of Education, issued on February 4, 2017) and the “Regulations on the Management of Graduate Students of Beijing Institute of Technology” (School 132, issued on August 29, 2017), It is stipulated that this management method should be formulated in combination with the characteristics of postgraduate education and the actual situation of our school.

Chapter ⅠCourse Assessment

Article 2Graduate students shall complete the prescribed course assessment in accordance with the training plan and individual training plan. The results of the examination will be recorded in the graduate transcripts in real and complete form and will be included in the student status files.

Article 3Assessment method

The assessment methods are divided into tests and examinations. Postgraduate course assessments can be conducted in the form of written tests (closed or open), writing papers, etc. The form of assessment should be clearly written into the syllabus of the course.

Graduate students should actively participate in the curriculum teaching activities in accordance with relevant regulations and requirements. Instructors can assess their class performance and incorporate it into the course results. Practical teaching experiments such as scientific research experiments, innovation and entrepreneurship can be assessed by examination.

Article 4Examination time

Course exams should be arranged within 3 weeks of the end of the course. The teaching operation and test center is responsible for the whole school public class examination arrangement. The starting school is responsible for the examination arrangement of the professional courses. The graduate school and the examination center should publish the time and place of the examination through their websites one week before the exam. One week before the exam, the college should report the professional examination information to the teaching operation and the examination center and the graduate school for the record.

Article 5Examination Discipline

Graduate students should take the course examinations at the specified time and place, and consciously abide by the "Beijing University of Technology Postgraduate Examination Management Regulations". If the graduate student is in violation of the rules and cheated in the examination, the score of the course is recorded as “0” points, and the remarks are “violation”. And punishment will be given according to the "Beijing Institute of Technology Graduate Student Status Management Measures" and "Beijing Institute of Technology Student Disciplinary Regulations".

Article 6Absentee

During the course, if the postgraduate absence time exceeds one-fourth of the prescribed time, the instructor can cancel the qualification for the course assessment. The course score is recorded as “0” points, and the remarks is “absent”, and disciplinary action will be granted in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Beijing Institute of Technology Graduate Student Status Management and the Beijing Institute of Technology Student Disciplinary Regulations.

Article 7Withdrawal courses and absentee test

For graduate students who are not attending enough in the process of learning due to scientific research that needs to travel or go abroad, sick and other reasons. If you are unable to take the course assessment for any reason, you should apply for a refund one week before the course test. Those who fail to apply for withdrawal according to the regulations, apply for withdrawal without approval, and refrain from taking the test without authorization, the score of the course is recorded as “0” points.

Article 8Re-repair

If the graduate program is not qualified, and the course is “compulsory”, the course must be re-learned. Electives should generally be re-learned, and other elective courses may be re-elected with the consent of the instructor. The re-learning course needs to be re-elected, and the results of the assessment are recorded.

Article 9Exemption

In accordance with the relevant exemption regulations of the school, the postgraduate public compulsory courses are subject to the exemption conditions, accompanied by relevant certification materials, and with the approval of the instructor, the college supervisor may apply for exemption. For courses that have been approved for exemption, there is no need to participate in the course selection and assessment. The scores are uniformly recorded as “85”, and the remarks are “exempt from repair” and the corresponding credits are obtained. The materials for exemption approval are archived by the college organization for a period of 8 years.

Chapter II Assessment and Management of Achievements

Article 10Ways of assessing results

The graduate program records course grades in a percentage format. A score of 60 or more is acceptable.

Article 11Average grades point

The school uses the Grade Point Average (GPA) as a reference standard for graduate study quality. Average grade point (GPA) = ∑ (course grade point x credits) / ∑ credits

There are several methods for calculating the grade point of the course, namely:

Grades are recorded as violations, violations, passages, and failures are not counted in the GPA. Each grade of the same course is counted in the average grade point.

Article 12Assessment of grades

The instructor can comprehensively assess the usual grades (experimental report, literature reading, class discussion, mid-term exam, homework, attendance, etc.) and final grade according to the specific characteristics of the course. The instructor should reasonably control the difficulty of the assessment and should make the student's grades conform to the normal distribution.

Article 13Entry of grades

The instructor should enter the first semester course test scores into the postgraduate education management system, print the paper transcripts and sign them in triplicate, one for their own records, and two for the college before the first week of each semester. Once the course results have been submitted, the instructor will no longer have the authority to modify the results.

All the grades of the graduate students are recorded in the “Graduate Education Management System” and the electronic files are archived by the Graduate School Quality Office.

Article 14Preservation of gradea

Before the third week of each semester (according to the school calendar), the college will summarize the transcripts of each course in the previous semester, print and bind them into a book, in duplicate, and the college will file one copy and the other will be submit to the graduate school for filing. The deposit period is 8 years.

When the graduate school goes through the formalities of leaving school, the “Graduate Course Transcripts” will be sent to the student archives and the school archives as required.

Article 15Grades inquiry

Graduate students can log into the Graduate Education Management System to check course grades. For courses that require evaluation, graduate students can evaluate the course in the management system before they can check the results.

Article 16Verification and correction of grades

If the graduate student disagrees with the course results, he/she may submit a written application for the verification results to the opening college in the second to fourth week of each semester.

The test paper is reviewed by the instructor. The review is limited to checking for missed judgments, accumulating scores, and signing points, and does not re-take the review. If the deadline is exceeded, the check-up will not be accepted.

After review, if the results are incorrect, the instructor will submit a written amendment request. After review and approval by the Graduate School of Education, the instructor will modify and sign the transcript on the archive. At the same time, an application should be submitted to the Graduate School to revise the results within the graduate education management system.

If the applicant for verification is not submitted within the specified time, it is deemed to have no objection to the achievement.

Article 17Print of transcripts

Postgraduate print transcripts (limited to ten per person) for graduate employment, application for settlement, various exams or retention. During the school year, you can go to the self-service printer to complete the printing. Graduate students who are absent from school must be printed by the Student Archives.

Article 18Examination questions and examination papers storage

The postgraduate course test questions and test papers are uniformly saved by the instructor, and the retention period is 3 years.

Chapter III Assessment of the training process

Article 19In accordance with the training program, the training links include compulsory course links, opening of the topic (including literature review) and mid-term inspections. Only graduate students with a status of “registration” can participate in the assessment of the training program.

Article 20The college shall organize the tutors and research to complete the assessment of the training links within the time specified in the training program, and report the completion to the graduate school for the record.

Article 21After the compulsory section, the opening of the topic (including literature review) and the mid-term inspection, the college requires the instructor or the college to review and review. Materials containing review comments and review signatures should retain a complete paper file. The deposit period is 8 years.

Article 22The electronic files in the “Graduate Education Management System” shall be filed by the Graduate School Quality Office.

Article 23Those who fail to pass the assessment of the training link shall re-enter the relevant links for assessment.

Chapter IV Supplementary Provisions

Article 24These Measures shall be interpreted by the Graduate School. The Beijing University of Technology's Postgraduate Course Selection, Assessment and Achievement Management Measures (Graduate School [2014] No. 38) shall be abolished at the same time. And this measure has been implemented since September 1, 2019.
