Vice president of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) Yi-Ming Wei

Yi-Ming Wei, a distinguished professor with doctor degree of engineering, was born in Anyuan, Jiangxi province in January 1968. Wei received his bachelor's degree and master's degree from Kunming University of Science and Technology in 1989 and 1992 respectively. And he got doctor's degree from Beijing University of Science and Technology in 1996. He entered the service in December 1991, and served as the deputy director of the Institute of Science and Technology Policy and Management Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in September 2000. In December 2008, he served as the dean of the School of Management and Economics in BIT. In September 2019, he served as a member of the Standing Committee and vice president of BIT.

Dr. Yi-Ming Wei engaged in the research of energy environment system engineering and climate engineering management, hosted more than 50 important tasks such as national key R & D projects, published more than 10 books and about 190 SCI / SSCI papers, among which 21 papers were selected as “most-cited papers” worldwide. He was selected in the most-cited scientists list in 2018, and won 12 provincial and ministerial awards. He was funded by the National Science Found for Distinguished Young Scholars, invited by the Ministry of Education as Yangtze river scholars Distinguished Professor, selected into the National “Ten Thousand Talents Program”, and academic leader of innovative research group of the National Nature Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Wei won the title of National Excellent Science and Technology Worker, and Beijing Excellent Teacher. He served as the vice chairman of Project Management Research Committee, China (PMRC), the founding chairman of the Chinese Society of Energy Economics and Management, deputy editor, consultant and editor of more than 10 international important journals. Wei has been appointed as the member of the 5th and 6th Beijing NSFC, member of the Advisory Committee of the Management Department of NSFC, member of the National Committee of Experts on Ecological Environment Protection, member of the China Meteorological Development Advisory Committee, and the coordinator of the lead author in the energy system of third working group of the sixth assessment report (AR6) of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
