The 3rd Graduate Education Academic Forum was sponsored by the Academic Degrees and Graduate Education magazine and the Graduate Education Research Center of Beijing Institute of Technology. And it is co-sponsored by the Editorial Department of China Higher Education Research, the Editorial Department of Education of Tsinghua University, and the Editorial Department of Jiangsu Higher Education, the Editorial Department of Graduate Education Research, China Doctoral Education Research Center of Peking University, Higher Education Research Institute of Beijing Normal University, Graduate Education Center of Beihang University and Education College of Tianjin University. The forum was grandly opened in Beijing on August 20, 2019.

The forum attracted more than 40 universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China, Nanjing University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, Beihang University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Tianjin University, Hokkaido University and so on. Professor Wang Zhanjun, vice president of the Chinese Society of Academic Degrees and Graduate Education and director of the Graduate Education Research Center of Beijing Institute of Technology, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The opening ceremony was hosted by the president of the Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Magazine Zhou Wenhui.

Ministry of Education, and Zhang Shulin, former vice president of the University of Science and Technology of China, respectively issued honorary certificates to the authors of the excellent theses of the forum.

After the opening ceremony, Tang Jiwei made a report entitled “Accelerating the Construction of a Graduate Education with Chinese Characteristics”, which detailed explained the orientation of postgraduate education, practical issues related to postgraduate education, and the way to accelerate the reform and development of postgraduate education.

The second part of the forum was presided over by Wang Junzheng. Inviting Wang Zhanjun and Professor Ye Fugui, the editor-in-chief of Tsinghua University Education Research, to give report respectively. Based on the report entitled "The Road to Postgraduate Education and Powerful Country: Historical Experience and Strategic Research", Wang Zhanjun pointed out the direction of China's postgraduate education strategy research based on the historical experience of the development of postgraduate education in China. With the report entitled"Academic thesis Writing and Publishing", Ye Fugui focuses on the thesis topic selection of graduate students, literature reading, research skills, and writing methods.

In the afternoon, it was divided into three parallel forums, which were presided over by the “Yangtze Young Scholars” which granted by the Ministry of Education, professor Zhou Haitao from the Institute of Higher Education of Beijing Normal University, Zhou Wenhui and Wang Zhanjun.

The expert reviews include Ye Fugui, professor Ma Yonghong, director of the Graduate Education Research Center of Beihang University, Yan Xu, Director of the Editorial Department of Graduate Education Research, and Zhao Shikui, associate dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Beihang University, the editor of the China Higher Education Research Institute Researcher Wang Zhehe, associate dean of Jiangsu Higher Education Xiao Disheng, associate professor Shen Wenqin from the School of Education of Peking University, associate professor Wang Chuanyi from the Education Research Institute of Tsinghua University, associate professor Gao Yao from the School of Education of Tianjin University, Liu Junqi, editor of Degree and Graduate Education Magazine, Graduate Education Research editor Li Jinlong and Assistant Director of the Graduate Education Research Center of Beijing Institute of Technology, Dr. Li Minglei. There are 29 outstanding authors who comes from Beihang University shared their research results, and the expert group made a comment one by one.

The academic salon was held again that evening, and it provided an opportunity to have a close communication between students, scholars, journal editors and editors. Zhou Wenhui, Ma Yonghong, Yan Xu, Wang Zhehe, Xiao Disheng, Li Minglei participated in the salon and had a lively discussion with students on the selection of research topics and research methods, the analysis of research data, the writing of academic papers, the submission of journals, and the development of academic career.
