The 2019 BIT Graduate International Summer School project was launched on July 1, 2019 by BIT Graduate School in order to provide more opportunities of international academic exchanges for its graduate students and help them to be more competitive in the world arena. During this project, excellent graduate students were sent abroad to partner institutions to attend Overseas Summer School and professors from prestigious universities in foreign countries were invited to give lessons in BIT(On Campus Summer School).

The Overseas Summer School project started in 2017. This year 81 students were sent to world-class institutions like McGill University, Berlin Institute of Technology, Israel Institute of Technology etc to attend the four-week academic study and scientific practice.

The On Campus Summer School project was organized by Graduate School under the joint support of School of Aerospace Engineering, School of Mechatronical Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Computer Science and Technology, School of Materials Science and Technology and Office of International Students. 253 graduates(including international graduate students) took part in the project this year and 12 foreign scholars were invited to give 12 courses(each for 32 credit hours) in English.

Thanks to the joint efforts of both the organizer, Graduate School and the supporters from relevant schools, departments and teachers, the 2019 Graduate Summer School project was carried out with great success.

Through the International Summer School project, students were able to conduct study and researches on the international platform and improve their international communication skills. At the same time, foreign professors giving lessons in BIT offered great opportunities for us to learn from international practice in English teaching programs and further promote the quality of our English courses. In addition, this project helped strengthen the communication and cooperation between BIT and world-renowned institutes, escalating the pace of BIT going international.
