On March 27, Beijing Institute of Technology and the China Meteorological Administration held a signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation agreement. Chen Zhenlin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the China Meteorological Administration, Zhang Jun, Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Institute of Technology, Long Teng, President, and Wang Bo, Member of the Standing Committee and Vice President of the Party Committee, attended the signing ceremony. The signing ceremony was presided over by Long Teng.

Chen Zhenlin and Long Teng signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties.

Chen Zhenlin congratulated Beijing Institute of Technology on its outstanding achievements in running the institute in recent years. He said that the China Meteorological Administration and Beijing Institute of Technology have a deep foundation for cooperation. The signing of this agreement will further chart a grand blueprint for deepening cooperation between the two sides, which will provide strong support for the high-quality development of China's meteorological industry. He hoped that the two sides, guided by the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, would continue to improve the cooperation mechanism based on national strategic needs, strengthen complementarity of advantages, integrate and promote scientific and technological research, discipline construction, talent cultivation, and achievement transformation, effectively promote the implementation of strategic cooperation agreements, and achieve win-win cooperation. The China Meteorological Administration will also provide strong support for the high-quality development of Beijing Institute of Technology.

Long Teng stated that the signing of this agreement is not only a vivid practice for both parties to inherit the red gene and promote the spirit of struggle, but also a powerful measure to give play to their respective advantages, implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and serve the construction of a strong meteorological country. It has important strategic significance and epochal significance for accelerating the realization of self-reliance in high-level meteorological technology and promoting the construction of "double first-class" at Beijing Institute of Technology. The two sides will work together in the same direction and frequency to accelerate resource accumulation, synergy, complementary advantages, and two-way empowerment, continuously promote the integrated development of education, technology, and talent, inject strong momentum into the innovative development of national meteorological technology and the core competitiveness of scientific and technological talents, and work together to open a new chapter in the rapid development of China's meteorological industry.

Zhang Jun expressed his gratitude to the China Meteorological Administration for its long-standing support to Beijing Institute of Technology, and introduced the development of BIT's career in recent years. He said that BIT and the China Meteorological Administration share the same origin and are in the same lineage. He hoped that the two sides would earnestly implement the strategic deployment of science and technology, education, and talent at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, deepen practical cooperation in complex environmental detection, weather radar, carbon peak carbon neutralization, international meteorological governance, and international talent cultivation, and promote the close integration of cutting-edge interdisciplinary advantages with major national meteorological related research.
