In the past decade, with the optimization and widespread use of high-performance computing devices and data storage devices, artificial intelligence technology driven by computing resource and vast amounts of data has been greatly improved. Artificial intelligence technology has also been applied to medical image analysis, and it has yielded advancements in the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease as well as in the understanding of normal conditions. However, further development of approaches to intelligent medical imaging analysis is still an important research challenge, for example, due to the low data quality caused by time-limited acquisition of medical images, heterogeneity of data collected from different scanners and imaging protocols, the high cost of accumulating a sufficient amount of annotated images for model training, etc.
This special issue invites original contributions and advanced research in intelligent medical imaging analysis, with special emphasis on efforts related to the applications of deep learning technology to the field of medical image analysis. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
● Semantic segmentation of medical images
●Learning-based medical image registration
●Computer-aided detection and diagnosis
●Medical image acquisition, reconstruction, and synthesis
●Medical image analysis with noisy labels and limited data
●Uncertainty quantification for medical image analysis
●Medical image analysis with annotation-efficient deep learning
●Trustworthy artificial intelligence for medical image analysis
●Integration of imaging and clinical data
●Validation studies and deep learning applications in radiology, pathology, endoscopy, dermatology, ophthalmology, and beyond
All submissions will be peer reviewed according to the Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology guidelines. The contributions should be original and have not been published or submitted elsewhere.
Manuscript should be submitted online viahttps://mc03.manuscriptcentral.com/jbit, and select the special issue “202305-Intelligent Medical Image Analysis”. Prospective authors may consult the sitehttp://journal.bit.edu.cn/jbitfor guidelines and information on paper submission.
