With the developments of modern signal and information processing technologies, the fractional methods, which include the fractional calculus, the fractional Fourier analysis, and the linear canonical transform, are becoming more and more important in the field of signal and image processing community. They provides new ideas, new methods, and stretch out many applications in an increasing number of fields, including signal and image processing, radar, and communications.

Although these new kinds of fractional methods have brought many advantages in some fields as compared to the classical integer methods, there are still a series of key problems to be solved in this field because of the continuous improvement of information system requirements. Therefore, the purposes of this Special Issue is to focus on the recent achievements and future challenges on the theory and applications of fractional domain methods.

We invite you to submit the most recent research results associated with the fractional methods in the following topics:

Signal and image representation methods.

Time-frequency analysis.

The uncertainty principle and convolutiontheorems.

Sampling and reconstruction methods.

Discretization method and fast algorithms.

Graph signal and image processing.

Machine learning and data analysis related to fractional methods.

The applications of the fractional methods.

Review articles.
