Abstract:Scholars in the field of urbanization have got to a com mo n view that urbanization is a driving force and plays an important role in econo mic development of the western region.But there are before us such questions as how to choose the way of urbanization and how to solve the relevant problems as well.As for the relationship between urban culture and urban economy,this paper analyzes the effects and the significance of urban culture on the choice of urba nization in western re-gion.Such elements as economic environment,history,techn ology,geography,region and nation are the bases of forming ur-ban culture.Which is the condition of forming urban specific character and distinctive features,t he basis of promoting urban economic grade,the key factor which should be paid m ore attention to is to how to choose the way of urbanization in west-ern region .
